Barcelona Travel Guide

This is a quick guide to some of my favourite locations and where to get some of the best shots in Barcelona!

La Sagrada Familia

This is probably the most visited and recognisable monuments in Barcelona. The basilica was designed by Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí with work beginning in 1926. Fun fact: It’s still not complete!

The gorgeous architecture makes for a stunning backdrop to a photo. I can recommend going there early as it very quickly starts to get busy during the day!

Bunkers del Carmel

Bunkers del Carmel is one of my personal favourite spots in Barcelona.
To get to up there you have to hike up a pretty long hill, but it’s all worth it if you want to have an amazing 360 degree view of the city!

I can recommend visiting it for a sunset win particular for the best scene.
Be prepared for many locals and other visitors doing the same up there though. It does get very crowded towards the lead up to sunset.

Tibidabo

Tibidabo is a little amusement park on top of Tibidabo mountain. It takes some time to get there, but the same as Bunkers del Carmel, it has stunning views across all of Barcelona.

Everything in the amusement park looks very cute and colourful! Do note: the amusement park isn’t fully open until the summer, but still a cool place to visit and walk around.

Palau de la Música Catalana

Palau de la Música Catalana is a famous concert hall in the old part of Barcelona. It is the only music hall in Europe to be illuminated completely by natural light during the day.

You will need to book a tour to get inside, which costs around €20 (or slightly less if booked in advance). I think it is absolutely worth it to see this beautiful building. The tour allows you onto the balcony to see it’s stunning and colourful mosaic pillars!

If you thought Palau de la Musica Catalana is impressive from the outside, have a look inside! Definitely the most beautiful concert hall I have ever seen!

Parc Güell

Another location for breathtaking views of Barcelona is Parc Güell!
If you want to take photos at the famous mosaic balconies make sure to go early – as with other locations, it will get very busy, very quickly.
Entry to the park is free before 8.30am, so waking up early can be worth it to avoid the crowds and save yourself a couple of euros.
